Aztec antics

Every Sunday I trek to the washing machine, my arms overflowing with laundry. The bed gets stripped and plied with clean sheets and the towels get washed and tumble dried. There's nothing quite like sinking into fresh sheets on a gloomy Sunday evening, or wrapping yourself up in a clean fluffy towel.

On Sundays I also become a meticulous planner when it comes to my work wardrobe. I'll peruse the weather forecast before tugging various outfits out of my wardrobe, ensuring lesser-worn items get adequate air-time. By the time I'm ready to go to bed there'll be a neat little row of outfits, complete with matching shoes, bags and jewellery, all ready so I don't have to think when I wake up for work in a haze and a mad dash the next day.

Recently though I've found myself waking up for work and reaching not for the floaty midi skirt or smart shift dress I had in mind, but jeans and joggers. I work in a fairly relaxed office in a creative role, and more often than not can be found plugged into a Spotify playlist while marking up proofs. These joggers from Topshop seemed like the perfect choice, particularly on warm days when I'm switching between an air conditioned office and the park. They've also served me well on long train journeys and summer barbecues that span between the heat of the day and the cool evenings.

One of my bridesmaids has jet setted off to Lake Garda for a week of R&R, so I went to spoil her with gin and tonics and a gossip on Monday. She'd been a little daunted about travelling alone, so I set up some Spotify playlists to keep her entertained while she's lugging suitcases around the airport and (hopefully) basking in the warm Italian sun. Her 'on the road' playlist has also become the perfect accompaniment to my work commute, so I thought I'd post it here in case you'd also like a little listen. Enjoy!
