Kimono

What a gorgeous first weekend of summer! I hope it was as beautiful wherever you are as it has been here. I think this must be the first year (that I can remember anyway) where June 21st has actually felt like summer. Usually, it's a bit of a joke that that is actually the first day of summer because it's freezing cold and raining, but not this year! Last night, we were driving home at 10:15 pm and it was still light out. And tonight, we were out for a walk until 8:30 pm and it felt like the middle of the day. I just love these long days and am so happy that we can actually enjoy them. These photos were taken on that walk and you would swear it was like 2:00 in the afternoon. Oh summer, I love you...

So, my new summer fav is the kimono. Who knew it would be such a perfect item? This is the only one I own so far and it has become an absolutely necessity. I can tie it around my waist when it gets a bit too warm, and then put it on once the sun goes down or the wind picks up (as it always does around the ocean). I always thought it was a bit too boho for me, but this one really isn't boho at all! Also, I'm really coming around to that style, so I wouldn't mind one with more of a gypsy vibe after all. I feel like that's all I've been wanting to wear lately.
