Valentine's Day | Cheap Date Ideas

It's that time of year again that people either love or hate. I'm a bit of both. I love it because it's full of romance and everyone is a little bit loved up. However, I hate it because it costs a bomb. I don't begrudge spending money on Aiden, but why am I going to spend £5 on a balloon that will be forgotten about by March.

As it's Frugal February for us, we are keeping spending to a minimum this year and I thought I'd share some ideas for cheap date ideas and cheap gift ideas (coming soon...). It is all about the romance after all, and you don't need to spend a lot to get that.
1. Indoor picnic.
Set a blanket on the floor. Get some nibbles, maybe even a bottle of wine and some candles and have an indoor picnic. You'll stay warm, and it costs less than eating out.

2. Go for a walk.

You can't beat a walk with just the two of you. Maybe reminisce about your past and walk to places that mean something to you both - your first date, your first kiss?

3. Cook for eachother.

If it's something that your boyfriend/girlfriend normally does, take over and cook them a meal they'll love.

4. Ice skating.

Of course you'll have to pay to go to this one, but it isn't that expensive and can be a lot of fun, with a lot of giggles and excuses to hold on to each other thrown in!

5. Have a home spa day.

Rather than paying out for spa treatments, do it at home. Light candles, put on calming music and maybe even splash out on a massage oil. Much cheaper than going out for it.

What are you planning for Valentine's Day?
