Pretty Serious Brand New Undies Collection

While I might be allowing myself to blog without as much self-imposed pressure, Pretty Serious are one range that I will always make time for – even if that time is a little later than I’d have liked. Following up the beautiful Pinup collection of cremes are these bright and beautiful staple shades from Pretty Serious, the Brand New Undies.

‘Comfy Y-Fronts’ is a spot on royal blue creme. Lovely and smooth, two coats.

‘Daring Undies’ is almost a grown up shade, but just leans towards fun purple a little bit. Lovely formula.

‘Granny Panties’ is described as a baby blue creme, but to me it just felt a tad too bright to be a true baby blue. Two coats again.

‘Knickers in a Knot’ is definitely my favourite. One coat, the perfect purple (that I might have to compare to Barry M’s recent LE) and just beautiful.

‘Lacy Underthings’ is a bright magenta, jelly/creme hybrid. Two coats, and definitely needs the second to even it out.

‘Under Dunders’ is not really my kind of colour. Considering my love for blues and greens, teals don’t really do it for me. There was a little bit of staining during removal, but compared to many other teal polishes it was pretty minimal.

Overall these are great staples. I love that Pretty Serious have gone with a colour themed release for these basic cremes rather than the standard blue, yellow, green, orange and so on rainbow collection. The colours all suit one another and will make great combinations for nail art without the need to use any other colours. They’re all different enough from one another, whilst sitting nicely in the same family of colours. The formulas are great across the board and are all one/two coaters. Depending on what you’re layering over them some can probably get away with one thicker coat rather than two. Even though I love these colours, I hope we can expect a wider range to be developed so that we eventually have a whole rainbow of reliable basics to pick from!
