Inspiration Challenge: Warm & Fuzzy {Hot Chocolate for Two}

It’s time for January’s inspiration challenge. This month’s theme is warm & fuzzy. All kinds of ideas ran through my head for this challenge. Everything from sewing projects to a cake. In the end I decided to focus on the feeling of warm & fuzzy rather than a literal interpretation. Hot chocolate always gives me that warm & fuzzy feeling when I drink it. With Valentine’s Day approaching I decided it would be a great idea to make Hot Chocolate for Two.

This recipe is very simple and quick. I added a little heavy whipping cream to give it a slight richness. I’m not a big fan of dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate in my hot chocolate so I stuck to milk chocolate but by all means use the latter if you prefer.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 c milk
• 1/4 c heavy whipping cream
• 1/2 c milk chocolate chips
• whipped topping
• chocolate for shaving
• sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

1. Place milk, cream and chocolate chips in a sauce pan and heat over medium low heat.
2. Keep stirring continuously until all the chocolate has melted and the temperature is to your liking.
3. Top with whipped topping, shaved chocolate and sprinkles.

I’m anxious to see what Stephanie made for this challenge. We mostly try to keep the challenges a secret from each other but sometimes we’ll give each other sneak peeks. I haven’t seen what she’s been working on at all. Let’s check it out here.
