Whoooo hooo!
Here I am, second Friday of January with another tutorial! And who said I wouldn’t be consistent? Well, I did. And yes, I know, it’s only the second Friday. But hey, baby steps…
I leave tomorrow for the States so you’re probably extra super impressed that this was done ahead of time & pre-scheduled. Whoop whoop!
Anyway, enough patting myself on the back, let’s get to it. I don’t know about you, but I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest hairstyles. They’re great inspiration and yet a lot of the really good ones are done professionally and hard to replicate at home. So I’m gonna be real with ya, that’ll never be me. I want to show you styles for the everyday woman, the one that uses dry shampoo because she just didn’t have time in the shower this morning. Or have time for a shower at all…
This messy headband bun with two elastic headbands is super easy and can be done on dirty hair. Clean hair too, if you like that sort of thing… It’s an out-the-door-in-10-minutes kind of style and that’s usually how I like it!
Products you may want to use are as follows: teaser comb (I love this comb because it has the lift side too), bobby pins, hair pins, dry shampoo (duh), smoothing serum, & hairspray.
The teaser comb is a must-have to create all that volume. Obviously the bobby pins & hair pins too unless you’re some sort of hair magician. Dry shampoo helps with the volume IMO. (It even has it’s own dedicated post!) The smoothing serum helps because with all the teasing you don’t want your hair to look like a big frizz ball. This’ll tone it down a bit.
See, it’s got the stamp of approval. Dirty hair approval. You’re welcome.
I’ve created a video for ya! Here is how I created the Double Headband Bun. Check it out & subscribe to my channel for more beauty goodness.
