Stitch Fix Vacay: Part one

You guys might have seen if you follow me on Instagram, but I got the most amazing opportunity a couple weeks ago. I got to head out to San Francisco to spend a couple days with some amazing ladies and the learn more about the company Stitch Fix. If you’ve read this blog for any amount of time then you probably know how much I love them. To me it’s a genius idea and works perfectly for my lifestyle. I’ve always been a fan and schedule my ‘fixes’ for whenever I’m in the States.

I was honored to be invited and to be there among some other amazing ladies. I got to meet Kilee from One Little Momma (who makes the amazing leather earrings!), Molly from Still Being Molly (whose pictures are fabulous and you will see a lot in this post), Jen from Jen Loves Kev (an amazing fashion blogger), the always hilarious Erin from Living in Yellow, Jill from Baby Rabies who is as lovely as she is funny and Veronika from Veronika’s Blushing is just as elegant and regal as she appears!

Now pictures are going to be the best way to portray this trip and I am so thankful for Molly who not only took pictures the entire time, but they were pretty amazing pictures! I’m going to use mostly hers, some cell phone pictures, and some pictures from the photographer Stitch Fix hired. I’m also gonna break it up into more than one post because there are so many pictures. Okay, let’s do this!

First off, San Francisco is impressive. It’s so beautiful in the surrounding areas and the city itself was so fun and creative. I have been numerous times before but the last time there I think I was in college, so it’s been a while. I loved it.

The Stitch Fix ladies really hooked us up, I mean they thought of everything. It was pretty incredible. They rented a very typically San Franciscan house that was so pretty and cute. It was so fun to be able to experience true San Francisco living! Well, at least for a couple days! Then they got in there and decorated it so cute, stocked the fridge with food and little extras. It was so much more than I expected.

Oh and see those flowers to the left? The purple ones? Ya, my husband had them sent for me!! I was socked to say the least. If you know my husband at all you’d know I didn’t marry him because of his romantic gestures! It was so unexpected I had to re-read the card a couple times to figure out it was from him! But it was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Points for the hubs.

So the first thing we did was head off to the headquarters in downtown San Fran to check them out. Oh man was it overwhelming! In a good way, of course. I mean, if I had to work in an office, this is the one I would want to work for. It’s open and creative and people are encouraged to share their ideas. I loved it. And the clothes… ya the clothes!

Before we had left our homes, the stylists asked us to send in a piece of clothing that we just don’t know how to wear. I sent in a pair of dressed up shorts that I like the concept of, but haven’t been able to figure out to wear them accept with all black. I loved the colors they chose to go with the shorts!

The stylists talk about why they chose what, how it works with styling people’s fixes, and then talked a little about trends. Then we heard from the buyers and how they pick what they do, and how they do the buying and how it ultimately ends up in your box. What a fun job to have, right!?

They also sent around quite a few different pieces of clothing for us to check out the quality & see it up close. It was so fun but really hard not to get into the “I NEED ALL THE THINGS!” mentality! It’d actually be hard to work there!

After all that jazz in the morning, we headed out to lunch. They had bought lunch from a trendy, delicious little place and packed a picnic for us! It was amazing. We all sat on the grass under the beautiful San Franciscan weather and chatted. We chatted about Stitch Fix of course, but lots of other fun things as well.

Now we had “worked” enough for the day, they had rented a van to drive us around San Francisco hitting all the major points! I had seen a few, but there were a few places I had never been, so it was really nice to check them all off!

And of course….

When we were all done site seeing for the day, we headed back to our house, relaxed, chatted, worked a little and then we were off to dinner!

And that, my friends, was the end of day one!

It was so fun. I feel so very truly blessed to have been given this opportunity. The girls were amazing and so easy and fun to hang out with. The Stitch Fix girls who organized it were fabulous as well as pretty much everyone else in the company.

So a huge thank you to The Stitch Fix ladies who put together such an amazing couple days. You guys are amazing!! Thank you to my husband (and our friend Simon and Emilie!!) for dealing with the kids while I was gone. It’s so amazing to be able to go away and not have to worry things will be taken care of while I’m gone.

And lastly, thank YOU guys! I am so blessed that anyone at all come to read this blog and I’m so happy that it’s you. I know I don’t know all of you individually, but when I do connect with you all, I know you’re just like me. You’re a mom, a daughter, a wife, a sister, a friend. We’re in the trenches together trying to do this thing called life the best we can. Thank you for coming here to read. Thank you for your kind notes of encouragement and comments. Just know that it doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank YOU!!

If you haven’t gotten your first fix yet, you’ve got to give it a try! Sign up here and let the stylists know what you like and don’t like, you’ll get the perfect box! I wrote a post about why I love it here.

I’ll post Day 2 soon!

FTC disclosure: I was invited on an all-expenses-paid trip via Stitch Fix, but was not compensated monetarily to attend, nor am I being compensated to write this post. All future fixes will be paid for with my own money.
