Summer kitchen decor

Hi there everyone!

Sadly, the summer season is flying by. Lucky for me though Fall is my favorite time of year and come the end of August I start getting out the Fall bins.

Am I rushing it a tad? I don’t mean to, seems the stores, pinterest, and blogs dictate this sort of thing.

Don’t worry though, I won’t get out all 10 of my bins.

Today, I am sharing some summer kitchen decor decorating.

Our style is Country, French, rustic, eclectic, vintage, southern style all in one.

Typically speaking, when you here country kitchen, one may think that means outdated. Not be the case, and No you don’t have to live in the Country to have Country kitchen. I don’t follow trends, and I am not one for white cabinets. I like them in other peoples homes but not mine. We had them in our Florida home and they were a mother’s worse nightmare. In today’s current trends they do have different finishes and if I could make them chippy with charm and no finger prints, I would consider a few white ones.

*************

I never finished showing you all of our kitchen since we painted the kitchen in Bavarian creme,

did the Faux beams, and since I started a little copper mold collection.

I figured I would give a quicky of my thrifty, vintage Country Kitchen.

I do believe you have seen some snippets along the way, I think when I painted that shelf ladder there in the corner with the KILZ-HIDE all custom tinted.

Just about everything on the shelf ladder was either made or gifted, like the red vintage scale, the blue rooster, etc.

I have mentioned to you all a lot of our decor in the kitchen has been thrifted and gifted along the way.

This old chippy side table sat in my father-in-laws garage for years. I cleaned it up pretty well..even though it still looks dingy, I suppose that adds to the beauty of it, and it turned out to be one of my favorite pieces.

Lots of nice storage there too.

Cute little burlap wreath made with love by Ann from On sutton place.

The rooster tile was a gift from another friend for my birthday a few years back,

I bought the frame to put around it.

Beautiful pottery also compliments of my FIL.

I recently shared my once paper cutter turned paper towel holder find.

I think recently I saw one like this in the pottery barn catalog.

Gifts scattered about, like the rooster from a blogging friend Kimberly Hites, I love it when I receive random gifts from blogging friends..feel free anytime, I gladly accept and cherish:)

The French wooden tray a birthday present.

I recently found some of my boys old art work and decided I would display it here on my Grapevine wreath I made a few months back.

I can alternate it with a clothes pin as you see.

My husband bought me these cute measuring cups from cracker barrel last year for Christmas.

I found this vintage scale at an antique shop in NC. It was deal if I recall at less than $20.00.

The herb pot I made and painted with Rit dye a few months back and both the herbs and the pot is still doing well.

Surprised I have not killed them.

A late birthday present from a friend. Cute little recipe magnet board. I believe she got it too from cracker barrel.

Of course our little lucy has a space of her own. This painting was done by a dear friend when Lucy was just a little puppy. My friend was moving back to Germany and she gifted us this before she left. So excited actually next week they are coming for a visit. Have not seen them in 5 years!!! Elke will be happy to see this:)

I love it, and it has been in the same place for years.

Here is my copper mold collection finally complete.

They can be pricey for the super old patina ones. I decided these shiny ones would do me just fine for about 5.00 each.

So you see nothing fancy here, nothing outrageously expensive either.

I change things up too much to be spending a lot of money.

I have two boys to put to college and one coming up this year…YIKES!

I better start selling some of this junk.

Have a good day everyone.

Thanks for stopping by today.

if you are not a regular I sure would love to see you back again.

XO
