Wear Red, Attract The Opposite Sex Says New Study

According to a recent report on a study conducted at Wuhan University in China, 280 heterosexual students were shown 32 pictures of the opposite sex and were asked to rate them according to how attractive they found them.
The result? Male students found women wearing red the most attractive, warmer and competent. For women, men wearing red clothing had a marginally significant effect on men’s sexual attractiveness. Wearing too much red can make women think that men could be aggressive – taking cues from nature, when animals’ and people’s faces redden to denote anger.

The colour red was shown to have a boosting effect on the sexual attractiveness of women with feminine facial traits,’ lead author Dr Fangfang Wen
The study was to dig deeper into what “previous researchers have documented that the color red enhances one’s sexual attraction to the opposite sex.”

It seems OK Cupid also conducted a survey and “found that women who wear red in their online dating profile photos are more likely to get messages and dates than those wearing any other color.”
