This is a very late post, however, better late than never. Last February 2013, I and my partner Fitri got a chance to show case our Indonesian Batik at a prominent department store in Japan, Tokyu Hands, Ginza. I was asked to curate batik items to be exhibited and sold at Tokyu Hands, Ginza last February. So we both wen to Tokyo and checked out our Batik exhibition there. We had fun, hanging out mostly at the Ginza area, nice weather, it was sunny yet a bit cold for the month. I would like to gratefully thank to our suppliers and partners for this batik exhibition who have been so supportive in making the event possible. Thank you to: Cita Tenun Indonesia- CTI (Thank you Intan and Bianca), Riana Kesuma batik (thank you mba Riana), LENAN Silk batik (thank you mas Simon), Andis batik (mba Lyndha thank you), Djawa (thank you mas Benny), Erna Gallery (thank you mba Erna), Rajasa batik (thank you mas Erwin), batik Komar (thank you mas Komar) and Virago Japan (thank you Hendra and Nao-san) and others who I cannot mentioned one by one. Really apreciate for all the endless supports. Had a wonderful 4 days in Tokyo, ate lots of yummy Japanese food and went shopping for a bit.
With Fitri my partner in Batik Antik goes to Japan. Behind us Nao-san from Virago (she was the one organized the batik exhibition) and the store manager of Tokyu Hands
Wearing Riana Kesuma’s batik scarf. Love this scarf, the color is natural dye. Grey, black and white.
A beautiful Art installation in the lobby of our hotel. We stayed at the gorgeous Peninsula hotel in Ginza
Check out the cover of this book…DEJAVU? I tried to mimick the cover of this book by taking pic in the same spot
