I am a big The Simpsons fan, so I knew I would be indulging in this collection when it came out from MAC Cosmetics. There are a lot of bright, colorful items in this collection and I had to hold myself back so that I didn’t overdo it. I even bought an extra of Sideshow You blush, the only online only product from the collection. Keep your eyes peeled for the giveaway!
I bought both blushes from this collection and two of the glosses. I am regretting not picking up the other two glosses, so if my local MAC counter has them Thursday they will be mine. The packaging for this collection is really cute. The blushes come in a glossy black with Marge on top, and Marge is even embossed on the blushes. The glosses have Marge on them too.
Sideshow You is a medium, warm toned coral blush with a satin finish. It is the more pigmented of the two blushes and my personal favorite. Pink Sprinkles is a light/medium cool toned pink with a hint of lavender and a matte finish. This one isn’t quite as pigmented, and needed a touch of building up. I feel like this one just looks OK on me, and I will likely either return it or wear it in combination with other blushes. I want to hang onto it, so most likely I will be finding ways to make it work. If you have a warm skin tone like me, keep in mind that this may not work right out of the pan for you.
I fell in love with both glosses. I wasn’t sure just how orange Grand Pumpkin would be, but I fell in love with it on first application. This is a shade I will be backing up. It is a medium orange cream. I love how it looks with my skin tone, and it pairs well with Sideshow You. Red Blazer is a medium fuchsia with sparkle. I was afraid I would like the sparkle, but I love how it looks on me. The sparkle isn’t obvious, and you don’t even notice it on the lips.
This collection isn’t selling out as fast as I thought it would, so if you are interested in any of these there is still time to get your hands on them. I will get photos and reviews up of Nacho Cheese Explosion and Itchy & Scratchy & Sexy as soon as I can get my hands on them.
