we all know i love halloween.
it's true - there is something so fun about getting dressed up and acting like a kid again (helllooooooooo no guilt chocolate eating!)
i'm also a huge fan of cheap (but classy) halloween decorations.

the dollar store.
#praise!
i found these two skulls at the dollar tree and thought "i want to paint these gold"
why? i don't know - gold is just speaking to me lately.
AND i just happened to have some martha stewart metallic gold craft paint = win!
materials:
// two skulls (mine already had small plastic eyelets on the top)
// two eyelets for the fishing wire.
// metallic (for the shine!) gold craft paint
// paint brush
// fishing wire
// two thumb tacks
// 10 minutes
how to:
// paint all of the "bare skull" that you see, leaving the black in the creases to help add depth and dimension
// feather the gold paint into the black - so you don't have a straight line. turn your brush on it's side and use the end to add little "streaks" to help blend the gold into the black. let dry
// thread your fishing wire through the eyelet and make a knot - then tie it around the thumb tack (this was the hardest part!)
// tack that sucker into the ceiling and BAM you are done!
