Goodmorning! Changing the pace today and sharing about my work out regimen, diet, and my most recent endeavor with NET-A-PORTER, The 7-Day Body Reboot.

The one and most important piece of advice I can pass along is finding balance. Sounds cliche and somewhat boring, however, I’ve tried many different work out regimens and eating plans and it always comes back to finding and maintaining balance- mentally, physically, emotionally. I do not restrict myself from foods I love and I do not work out obsessively. I do, however, stay very aware of what I’m consuming, allowing small indulges here and there, while also making time to work out 4-5 days a week.

Fitness: Running. Long distance running is the one and only workout I consistently do. I started running in high school for my cross country team and have never stopped. More than the physical benefits, it’s the one place where I can clear my mind and completely escape. I loose track of time and my surroundings and just go. I typically run 20-25 miles/week..sooo 4-5x/week, 4-5miles/run. Other than running, I really enjoy Bikram Yoga (hot yoga). The best shape I’ve ever been in was after a 6-month stretch of Bikram 4x/week. The detox alone will make you feel incredible!

Diet: My diet is primarily Vegetarian with occasional fish and chicken. I will typically eat these on holidays or visiting family and friends. Since I was a child, I’ve always really enjoyed vegetables and fruits. I would prefer a giant bowl of grilled veggies over a burger or pizza any day. I generally never sit down for a full meal. I graze all day…literally all day! A snack for me would probably consist of assorted veggies, avocado, nuts, and a banana with peanut butter. I LOVE juicing. I make at least 1 veggie juice a day. My typical recipe is: kale, spinach, parsley, lemon, garlic, celery, and ginger. I get most of my protein through beans. I make a bag of fresh beans every week. My two favorites are chick peas and black beans. With that said, I do have a sweet tooth and will allow myself to indulge here and there. My favorite dessert is a coke float with Blue Bell Ice Cream. YUM!

Now, The 7-Day Body Reboot! NET-A-PORTER and Nike have teamed up to create a exclusive video sequence lead by the Nike Master Trainer, Joslyn Thompson. The 15-minute workouts include high intensity strength and yoga training. The short videos are then followed by an exclusive dietary program from nutritionist Rosemary Ferguson where she walks through one meal, tailor-made to coincide with the workout that day. Because the videos were so short, I did them first thing in the morning and then continued my regular running in the afternoon. More than anything, I feel like the 7-Day Body Reboot was a great learning experience and encouragement to start adding strength training and yoga alongside my running routine. Also, the recipes were AMAZING..definitely worth checking out! I didn’t get to try all of them (because NYFW kicked off on day 5 of my challenge), however I plan to go back through and try the three I missed. My favorite recipe was probably Day 1 Dinner- sweet potato, tuna, & bean salad. Basically all my favorite things in one!
