The day spent with Longines at the stables of Jane Richard Philips goes on.
As mentioned in the previous post, after I put the new Longines Conquest at my wrist and took pictures with Jane and Ignace, I could visit the stables and see Jane’s horses, including the six years old Prima Luna (whose name is the same of a collection of Longines) just landed among the younger horses, the famous Selle Français Pablo de Virton, while the Italian Upanisad di San Patrignano was going to be saddled for the training with Longines equipmente of course.
Under the technical guidance of her husband Ignace, Jane began riding Upanisad on the plan and then done a series of little jump far 1 gallop away from each other and located on the long side. Once they did the exercise a few times in both directions, they concluded with a line, single jump (5 gallops) single jump (4 gallops) oxer.
I always like to watch professionals athletes working because I try to pick out visually as much as I can at educational level. What most intrigued me was the serenity of the horse (a horse that a few months ago flew to Japan to attend the Longines Hong Kong Masters and only two weeks ago jumped in the Arezzo Toscana Tour – see results here) that just rode with a simble bit with bars, seemed so relaxed on each exercise. This is the kind of balance that I, and with no dubt also any other rider, are looking insatiably.
After the jumping session with Jane, we moved to another part of the equestrian center for having lunch and where I literally start counted the minutes waiting for the afternoon to arrive and finally get on the saddle (you’ll see)!
At the moment Jane is in Lyon for the Final of the Longines FEI World Cup. Good luck Jane and nice Easter weekend to you :)

La giornata con Longines alle scuderie di Jane Richard Philips prosegue.
Come anticipato nel post precedente, dopo aver messo al polso il mio nuovo Longines Conquest e aver fatto le foto con Jane e Ignace, ho potuto visitare le scuderie e vedere i cavalli di Jane, tra cui Prima Luna (tra l’altro proprio il nome di una collezione Longines) di soli sei anni approdata tra le giovani leve, il famoso Selle Français Pablo de Virton, mentre l’Italiano Upanisad di San Patrignano veniva sellato per l’allenamento naturalmente con equipaggiamento Longines.
Sotto la guida tecnica del marito Ignace, Jane ha cominciato il riscaldamento in piano per poi proseguire su una serie di cavalletti a 1 galoppo di distanza l’uno dall’altro, posti sul lato lungo. Una volta effettuato l’esercizio un paio di volte ad entrambe le mani, ha concluso poi con una linea, verticale (5 galoppi) verticale (4 galoppi) oxer.
Mi piace sempre guardare i professionisti allenarsi perché cerco di estrapolare visivamente quanto più posso a livello formativo. Ciò che maggiormente mi ha incuriosita è stata la serenità del cavallo (un cavallo che qualche mese fa è volato in Giappone a saltare il Longines Hong Kong Masters e solo poche settimane fa ha fatto il Toscana Tour in Arezzo - vedi risultati qui) che, montato con un semplice filetto a barre, pareva rilassatissimo su ogni esercizio. Questo è il tipo di equilibrio di cui io, e senza dubbio anche qualunque altro cavaliere, siamo alla ricerca insaziabilmente.
Dopo la sessione di salto con Jane, ci siamo trasferiti in un’altra parte del centro per pranzare e dove ho letteralmente contato i minuti aspettando che arrivasse il pomeriggio per finalmente salire in sella (poi vedrete)!
Al momento Jane si trova a Lione per la Finale di Coppa del Mondo Longines FEI. In bocca al lupo Jane, e buon fine settimana di Pasqua a voi :)
