Who's That Girl? Women You Need to Know: Elisha Daniels

Welcome to 'Who's That Girl? Women You Need to Know'. A semi regular (as in, when I manage to pull myself together and wipe the spit-up off my clothes) series profiling women doing fantastically cool things, sharing cool ideas, inspiration, and looking pretty damn cool, doing it all.

You know these women. They are not mythical creatures, they are real people, running life like a boss. The pal who has a retail site, a day job, travels to exotic locales, writes a blog, and plans parties on the side. Or the lawyer, who is designing a house, attending fashion shows, and launching a second career as a stylist......with twins riding shotgun. I swear, they exist. Here. In this very city, no less.

Maybe we just glean a few pearls of wisdom on how they manage the juggling act....career, family, and day to day life. Perhaps one of them will be the catalyst, inspiring you to try that {insert your lifelong goal, new passion, or latest obsession here} you've always wanted to do. Or maybe you come away with a new trend to try for spring, simple as that.

This installment of Who's That Girl, Women You Need to Know, brings us someone I have always wanted to learn more about. Despite having sipped wine {or pink water, as she colorfully dubs Rose}, shopped, chatted, laughed, crossed at events, all many times over, I have never had a good dish session with the one and only Elisha Daniels.

Neiman Marcus personal stylist, philanthropist, breast cancer survivor and author of You Can Do This! Surviving Breast Cancer Without Losing Your Sanity or Your Style (with Kelley Tuthill and Anne Partridge) and the soon-to-be-released Remaining a Lady…While Being a Dame. Many stylish hats, all worn by Daniels with humor, grace, and whimsical commentary.

Ms. Daniels originally hails from the Massachusetts' burb Milton (score Milton!) and currently splits her time between the South End and South Boston, darting between the two 'hoods on her Vespa.

Boston has her heart, but travel is in her DNA, engrained at a young age by her mother. Mother and daughter started taking trips to Paris when Elisha was just a wee babe, a tradition that continues today- when she swaps out the South End for the left bank of Paris, annually. ALWAYS staying in the 6th. Like as in, she has never stayed on the right bank. Ever. Her little black book of Parisian recommendations and dining destinations includes Cafe de Flore, Fouquet's, La Coupole, Bar des Theatres, Les Bouquinistes, all proof positive you don't need to 'dine fancy to dine well in Paris'. She hopes to one day call Paris home for a spell, crossing it off the bucket list because, well, 'nothing bad happens in Paris'. From one die hard Francophile to another, the god honest verite!

Paris aside, she has racked up beaucoup frequent flyer miles in 2014, jetting to Florence, New York, Palm Beach, Puerto Rico and Nantucket thus far. An impressive line up consisting of work, play, and a little R&R. Her Boston black book is just as eclectic, impressive, and time tested as her guide to Paris. It includes Mistral, Sorellina, Miel (a total hidden gem in the Intercontinental) and Prezza. She is eagerly awaiting the latest outpost from Barcelona, slated to open in the now defunct Sibling Rivalry space. And what was I most eager to find out? Where this self proclaimed girlie-girl who 'likes pretty things', does her shopping (Neiman Marcus aside, of course!). The answer is clearly..........everywhere. Here, there, London, Paris, vintage and new, all fair game. What I love most about her style, daily Hermes scarf and Chanel flats aside, is her ability to move between high and low fashion with ease- something she accomplishes with ease. A recent outfit worn while lecturing at MassArt included a Chanel dress, Zara jacket and Vince leather leggings. Proof positive that she wears her fashion as fearlessly as she lives her life. If you get a chance to stop in at Neiman Marcus, spy the streak of pink on a Vespa, or cross paths at one of her many events for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, be sure to say hi! You will be glad you did.

Five Questions with MPCC. Rapid fire and irreverent.
