Lani Loves: Culottes and Cos
What I am loving this week.
Or what I just bought.
More often than not, both.
While there are certain trends I won't touch this season (athletic slides/overalls/birkenstolks), this is one I can, and will, get on board with. Culottes. Yes, you heard me right. I'm going there.
Random aside, culottes translates commonly as panties in French. They were also the name given to the short breeches worn by French aristocracy. The revolutionaries were referred to as 'les sans-culottes' because they adopted the pants of the people, rather than the upper class.
I saw this shot of Kate Hudson rocking a pair of culottes the other day and had a knee jerk reaction. The tank, the peek-a-boo flirty bra, the culottes, all easy, breezy, and sophisticated.
My quest for culottes led me to Cos. The fancier sister brand of H&M that launched this spring. I'm kind of sad I didn't check it out sooner. Les culottes have landed at home and I am impressed with the cut, fabric and overall quality. Cos, worth the time. And the Culottes.
