diane von furstenberg: lorraine dress

there are some dresses that bring about immediate confidence, ego boost or inner roar. this diane von furstenberg lorraine short sleeve shift dress did it for me. its architectural print and bold colours immediately caught my eye when i saw dvf's spring release. when neimans had it on markdown plus duty free to canada, well, let's just say we needed no further reason to get it to the great north.
i generally shy away from body conscious/bodycon types of dresses. there is no herve leger dress in my closet although i've tried them on before. i'm just not very comfortable in them but this one.. this one just took my breath away. it isn't as constricting as a herve leger. the material is quite heavy though and very "spanx-like". i took my regular size (4/S) in dvf. wear a blazer over it for work. on its own, it would only work for going out, dinners.. just not the office. while there is nothing overtly risque about it from a length or cut perspective, it is quite fitted. while beautiful, it would not be very professional to wear in conservative office setting on its own. joining tara's what i wore to work link up!
