Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick

This month, Guerlain is reintroducing us to a classic. The iconic Kiss Kiss Lipstick has been completely revamped with new shades, new packaging and an updated formula, offering an even bigger injection of daily glamour – and I’ve got 12 of the core shades to share with you today!

So, what is the difference between the old and the new Kiss Kiss exactly? Well, to start with, there are 25 brand new shades to discover, spanning a whole colour spectrum of nudes, pinks, browns, oranges and reds. These pigment-rich shades are designed to apply like butter… quite literally. Each lipstick is created from a base of mango butter, which is cushiony soft on lips and gives a hydrating, velvety finish.

The packaging of the lipstick has had a subtle revamp, too. The distinctive KissKiss stacked block design crafted by designer Herve van der Straeten is no longer gold, but lacquered black, giving the impression that it’s been dressed up in a slinky LBD. Very chic. Another change is the addition of the KissKiss logo embossed on the lipstick bullet, a little but luxurious gesture.

So, on to the core shades…

303 Beige Booster is a beautiful, classic beige rose shot through with fine golden glimmer. I say glimmer rather than shimmer because the effect is very subtle – it’s more of a glow than a sparkle. As the name suggests, this shade boosts your natural lip colour, giving that ‘your lips but better’ look.

320 Red Insolence is the sort of red you could confidently apply without a mirror. Like Beige Booster, this played-down, muted red has a fine, glowy golden shimmer that lifts the shade and gives it a wonderful sheen. It’s the perfect office-appropriate red.

323 Spicy Girl is, despite its seemingly tame hue, one for those who like a bit of everyday glamour. The terracotta rose shade is shot through with a smattering of golden and pink shimmer, which isn’t overly showy on the lips, but does create a lovely dimensional look.

325 Rouge Kiss is the shade that the ever-beautiful Natalia Vodianova wears in the KissKiss advert above. The suits-all, neutral red is quite a juicy shade to wear as it isn’t completely opaque. It gives the effect of a balmy lip stain; a ‘bitten’ effect colour with plenty of shine.

326 Love Kiss is a big whack of bold apple red that’s so wonderfully flirtatious. This one doesn’t have a speck of shimmer, which ensures that all of the focus is on the colour.

328 Red Hot is a vampy shade blackened red/Bordeaux wine shade that is a big win for autumn, offering a subtle take on gothic glam. Alternatively, dab and blend for a subtle purple-red stain.

340 Miss Kiss is such a fun shade! An equal balance of peach and pink, it adds a subtle touch of brightness that’s perfect anytime, anywhere. The medium coverage and golden shimmer give a gorgeous, natural finish.

344 Sexy Coral is my favourite shade of the KissKiss line. Shimmer-free, it’s the sort of coral that can look orange or pink depending on the light, and gives lips such an uplifting pop of bold yet flattering colour. It’s impossible not to reach for it every morning.

361 Excessive Rose is a seriously show stopping shade. Packed with pigment, the glossy medium fuchsia pink delivers a pop of bright and beautiful colour with minimal effort.

362 Cherry Rose is a subdued grape/cherry hue that straddles the line between evening and daytime wear; sheer it out for the office, and apply straight from the bullet for evening drinks. The golden glimmer gives it an added punch.

363 Fabulous Rose is a beautiful, classic rose shade. It’s the next step up from the ‘your lips but better’ of 303 Beige Booster, adding depth and richness to your lip look whilst still appearing pretty natural. This one has an infusion of silver glimmer.

368 Baby Rose is a really pretty light, dusky rose with fine golden shimmer. Dusky is the operative word here; the muted tone prevents the pink from becoming too cool or frosty.
