8/52: Fancy Feet

Shoes are kind of a big deal in this boy’s world right now. The other day, we sat down to put on the shoes that he wears almost every day. However, he noticed some yellow beaded moccasins in his closet and got up and brought them to me. I bought the little moccasins before he was born at a flea market because they were adorable. Now that I’m a mother, I’ve quickly realize how impractical light-colored suede is for a toddler. I figured they were more for looks at this point. But, he was relentless and persistent that those were the only shoes that would do for the day. As you can see above, he obviously won out over me. It’s funny to see their preferences already at such an early age. His little opinions are quite strong. And, those little fancy feet are pretty cute in my book.

A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2014. This post is part of The 52 Project.
