My Life In July 2014

We celebrated Independence Day three days in a row. The first night was in our hometown with our friends Matt and Amber. A local church provided free snacks and we pretended glow sticks were lightsabers, like you do.

The next day we went with my sister and brother-in-law to see the Cleveland Orchestra perform at Blossom Music Center and more fireworks. Then on the actual 4th of July we watched the fireworks from the beach.

I finally got to enjoy my first macaron. I feel like as a blogger and a twenty-something year old this was a vital life experience.

Andrew and I took a weekend trip to southern Ohio to visit his sisters, get some things from our storage unit, and go to Jungle Jims – a giant grocery store that sells food from all over the world and has random oddities like that “Ask the Brain” machine. While we were there we got Hugo a banana toy filled with catnip. He loves it. :3

I’ve been wanting to play the Sims 2 for a while now, but I left all of my games in our storage unit so while we were there I made sure to grab them. A couple days after we got home I went to install them on our laptop only to find that the base game was not in its box. I was devastated. They don’t make the game anymore so you can’t get it in stores or new online (I know because my friends spent that night searching all the stores in town for a copy – do I have the best friends or what?!) By some stroke of luck though, EA Games decided to release Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free download on Origin two days later. So now I have all the EPs and SPs and for FREE! It was a miracle.

This month was also my 24th birthday. My sister took me to the beach, Andrew got me balloons, and my parents took us all out for sushi. I also got a bunch of great gifts. Frozen stickers and temp tattoos, Teen Titans socks, a Doctor Who dress, cat shirt, and FFX and X-2 HD Remaster. I really do have the best friends and family. <3

Andrew’s family’s annual reunion was last month too. I’m not really close with his extended family, but there was some really good food and we played a game called King of Tokyo which was pretty fun.

Just last week, Amber and I took a little road trip to the Canton area to visit our soon-to-be married best friend, Elizabeth. We got to see her in her wedding gown during her fitting (sooo gorgeous) and we helped work on DIY wedding décor. There was also a late night snack run to the local grocery store, where we ran into Blake Shelton, and lots of puppy cuddles involved.
