Neäl & Wølf

Two reviews in one today, featuring some bestsellers from the increasingly prominent brand Neäl & Wølf. Created by haircare whiz Neil Capstick, it's a mesh of supreme haircare knowledge combined with scents designed by some of the world's biggest and best fragrance houses. A range of only ten products, Neäl & Wølf does justice to the old adage that good things can and do come in small packages (or ranges in this case)! I've been trialling two of products from Neäl & Wølf and am so far very impressed - on the more affordable side of the luxury hair care market, glamorously packaged and with stunning scents to boot, there's not much not to like about Neäl & Wølf.

Neäl & Wølf Harmony Intensive Care Treatment* | £11.66 for 200ml here
This is housed in a sleek, white flip-top bottle - always a plus for me with hair treatments - the two I was rotating prior to this were both screw top jars which are such a faff when you're in the shower or by the sink. It smells absolutely gorgeous - a warm, rich, gourmand fragrance which oozes luxury and is on the thinner side for a hair treatment. I usually use an amount equivalent to perhaps two 50 pence coins to cover my very long hair; if your hair is shoulder length and above I'd use about half this. This applies through the ends of the hair very smoothly and evenly so it covers the strands fairly effortlessly. Results-wise it works very quickly (I leave it in for about five minutes, but my hair is very fine, so if you're coarser-haired perhaps consider giving this a while longer) to leave hair soft and smooth and there's a noticeable shine. It doesn't leave that sort of silicone-like feel to the hair which some hair masques can do, so it feels like it's genuinely working to restore hair's silkiness and I'm really impressed by it. It's a price I'd be more than happy to pay - not entirely budget-friendly but a darn sight cheaper than many other intensive hair treatments on the market. It's not as intensive as some of the treatments I use and love so this would be something I'd use a couple of times a week more as a maintenance product than the kind of heavy duty slop I use when my hair is in more serious need.
Neäl & Wølf Elevate Volumising Lotion* | £10.76 for here
I'm not quite as enamoured by the Volumising Lotion as I am by the Treatment - as I mentioned before my hair is very fine so any sort of volumising product I use has to be really quite lightweight otherwise it can do quite the opposite of its claims. This certainly does add volume to the hair but I have to use the most minuscule amount and make sure it's really well distributed - the first time I used it I just sort of 'smooshed' it around in my roots and the result was not great - to say the least! I used far too much of this and it weighed down my hair and left it feeling waxy and greasy. However in the name of perseverance I used it again the following day and used about a third of the amount I'd used previously, made sure it was very lightly distributed throughout the roots of my hair, and I combed through with my Tangle Teezer. The result was far improved - a nice, healthy amount of volume without the waxiness I'd suffered previously. I now use it in this way with every blow dry and do really like the results that this gives, so it has won me over! Again this smells very luxurious, a sweetness without being floral or sickly and it translates well once the product has dried too - leaving a very salon-esque finish and scent. I've attached a photo below of one of my successful applications of the Volumising Lotion and you can see where it's lifted the roots nicely.
