Elie Saab Le Parfum Eau de Parfum | £64.60 for 90ml here This was an impulse buy following a quick sniff-a-thon at Gatwick airport last August Bank Holiday. Elie Saab, a Lebanese fashion designer, is first and foremost known for his haute couture - always demure, classy and of course completely unaffordable. His fragrances maintain the same inimitable luxury and this was love at first sniff.
Le Parfum, the predecessor of the newer, woodier Le Parfum Intense, was designed by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, the Franco-American brain behind scents such as Acqua di Parma's Iris Nobile, Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea and my personal all-time favourite fragrance, Narciso Rodriguez For Her. Elie Saab's Le Parfum debuted in 2011, an uplifting, feminine, refreshing scent that opens with notes of orange blossom and warms into a heart of Jasmin, Grandiflorum and Sambac. A base of cedarwood, patchouli and rose honey accord round off the scent, making it a floral-woody combination that is just a sensory delight. It is fresh and clean yet has lasting power to stay the whole day, whilst transcending seasonal barriers making it appropriate all year round, night or day.
It's a scent that earns itself many a compliment and one that I truly indulge putting on.
