GLAMGLOW Thirsty Mud

It's not often I'm keen to review anything 'miniature' sized, as I feel it doesn't always give an accurate representation of how the product works long-term. Some things I've been instantly wowed by have petered out into being, well, a bit rubbish, hence why I like to be able to use things over a considerable period of time before giving my thoughts (and why I get a bit peeved with tiny, one-use samples. And reviews of tiny, one-use samples).

So I'm going against my own 'rules' for this review - but I feel it's such a fantastic product it'd be a disservice not to review it. And at 15ml, this is a generously-sized sample, given that its full size is only 50ml (we'll get to that later). I'm sure the name 'Glamglow' is familiar to most - well-known for their Youth Mud masks, loved and loathed in equal measure it seems. On my hangover menu at Uni, alongside hot showers and long sleeps, was a round with a tub of Glamglow - it always makes me look rested and healthy, even if the truth was quite the contrary. I still keep a tub in my bathroom for skin emergencies.

I have to admit, though, that the Glamglow aesthetic has never really been 'me'. It's a bit showy; I feel like we've moved on from the days where everything you owned had to have some sort of celebrity endorsement or be a "red carpet secret". Call me a snob, but I suppose it predisposed me to thinking it was a bit gimmicky. And actually, Glamglow IS gimmicky - the ingredients in this particular offering, ThirstyMud, include (are you ready)? 'Dewdration™', 'HydraPack™', 'GreenEnergy™' and 'TEAOXI™'. It makes you wonder exactly how hard it is to get something patented. So, I'll admit - when I read the blurb on this product I groaned a bit. Marketing fluff; 'celebrity' hype - it's a hydrating mask, exactly what can it do that countless others can't? And who believes this stuff?

Well, I'm tucking in to a large, large slice of humble pie. I still think the branding and the product copy are completely naff, but this product produced absolutely incredible results for me. I leave this on for an hour minimum - overnight if I can, and can honestly say I have never felt my skin so good. Baby's bottom smooth. And the results have lasted throughout the day meaning my make up looks better, and stays on longer. It has a rich, warm coconut scent and a honey-like texture and colour, applying beautifully to the skin - and you don't need too much.

If you can get your hands on a sample size, then do - it's 15ml as opposed to the full-size 50ml - which costs a whopping £49.95. It's very, very good - but I'm not sure it's £50 good. You can find it cheaper here.
