Master bedroom inspiration

Andy likes to tell me that the nursery is the nicest room in our house! In my opinion, our living room isn’t too shabby either, but our master bedroom does leave a lot to be desired. It’s a big ol’, ugly mess. We finally got a king size bed, but we are still using our queen size quilt. Eek. The walls and ceiling are builders beige and the furniture is basically the house left overs. I’ve been trying to decide what the heck to do with this room we sleep in every. single. night. It can’t be too girly or too masculine (which usually = boring, in my opinion)! Master bedrooms are tough! So, here’s a little mood board action to get my wheels turning and hopefully give our master bedroom a much needed update soon! Oh and all of the goods you see below are from Havertys!

  1. Ankara Rug
  2. Malta Pillow
  3. Needham Mirror
  4. Color burst Table Lamp
  5. Lindy Bed
  6. Temi Throw

In this sophisticated (but spunky) master bedroom scenario, I’d paint the walls white, igloo white like the nursery, since the rooms are very close to each other. I want our whole house to flow and feel like one. I’d invest in a cozy white duvet/ quilt/ down comforter. The one major requirement would be that it is machine washable in my machine! That awesome 33 x 33 in. Needham mirror would either live above the bed or maybe above the dresser that we already own. Oh and I love, love that Lindy bed. It had me at wing back and fabric. I’ve never actually owned a wing back bed, but it looks so cozy. I can picture myself curled, resting my head in the corner of the bed with the Temi throw wrapped around me and a good book (or Pinterest on the iPad) in hand! And what do you think about the fun hot pink lamps? Now, I know the husband would be skeptical, but wouldn’t they look awesome? I feel like you’d need to find one more throw pillow to incorporate a little hot pink into the bed and voila… master bedroom perfection!

If you want more Havertys inspiration, be sure to check out their blog, Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter accounts! Oh and here’s a link to find the store nearest you! So, hot pink lamps are they hot or not? And, tell me, is a wing back bed really as cozy as I’m picturing it in my head? What do you think about the sophisticated (but spunky) master bedroom I’ve got brewing?
