Milani Enchanted Topaz Matte Lip Art Lipstick Review

I’m pretty much always down to rock a bold lip but you know what? Nudes aren’t so bad. They can actually be pretty sexy! At first, Enchanted Topaz seemed to be the least exciting piece in my Bedazzled Collection haul. “It’s just a nude lipstick,” I thought to myself. But the color is actually pretty amazing. Especially for brown skin!

It’s a struggle finding the perfect nude lip for all skin tones but sometimes it feels like us darker gals have it a bit harder. Usually when companies market a nude lipstick it’s too pale, chalky or ashy looking on deeper complexions. Fear not with Enchanted Topaz! It’s a warm, pink beige with a matte finish and sweet vanilla scent. I’ve seen people on Instagram comparing it to MAC Velvet Teddy and MAC Enchanted One from Alluring Aquatic but I don’t own either. I do, however, own MAC Cozy Up (also a dream nude for WOC!) and Enchanted Topaz is really close. It’s a little lighter and not as peachy but it’ll serve as a great dupe in case you missed out.

As I’ve mentioned before with Enchanted Amethyst and Enchanted Ruby, the Matte Lip Art formula is very similar to the MAC Retro Matte formula. It feels creamy and glides onto the lips without any tugging but it has an ultra matte finish with no sheen in sight. Enchanted Topaz doesn’t necessarily look powdery on the lips but it can make your lips look dry. The formula is a bit clingy so it emphasizes dry patches a bit. Thankfully, exfoliating and applying a light layer of balm helps dramatically!

Despite the ultra matte finish, Enchanted Topaz doesn’t feel drying at all. It wore quite comfortably for around 4-6 hours before fading into a stain. Usually, I have issues with nudes settling into my lip lines and bleeding but Enchanted Topaz remained in place and faded pretty evenly. I’m very impressed! I know the Milani Bedazzled Collection is a pain in the butt to find but if you spot this in stores I recommend snatching one (or two) up!
