L'Oreal Makeup app
The cosmetic powerhouse L'Oreal debuted an extraordinary app at the Cannes Film Festival that could potentially change how we buy makeup today and it is called Makeup Genius. The Makeup Genius app is for Iphone and Ipad users and saves you the trouble of going into a store and testing any makeup on your face. The app scans your facial features and any L'Oreal product of your choice is then instantly uploaded onto your face.The app is effectively a virtual mirror. The app works in real time and does not require you to upload a single image like other apps. The technology of the facial feature scanner is the same as the technology used in the film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and allows you to do a variety of facial expressions plus allows you to move in and out of light and the product you have chosen will move with your face. There are over 300 L'Oreal products to choose from and 16 makeup looks like "the smoky eye" to try on. The makeup looks were developed by celebrity makeup artist Billy B who has worked on the likes of Beyonce, Kendall Jenner and Sharone Stone to name a few. Another great feature is that if you are in store and you scan a L'Oreal Paris label on a product, you can instantly test out that product on the app! Zoe Saldana, Blake Lively and Julianne Moore were one of the first to test the app in Cannes and they instantly fell in love with it. Check out this video introducing the app ...
