So get ready, because Nasty Gals Party Harder. To kick off our jumpsuit-filled party shop, we recruited our girl Mamiko Motto. Read on.

If anyone knows how to start a party, it’s Mamiko Motto. The Lithuanian music-lover has been spinning since the age of 12 (!). From there, she went on to start her Hepcat radio show from her home-base of London. Now that she’s taken over most of Europe, she’s got her eyes set on the States—specifically, Los Angeles, which is great news for us! Get to know her a little better through some of her best party stories and the amazing party playlist (which she calls “post age neo punk”) that she made specially for us.

When did you first start DJing?

When I was about 12. I used to volunteer at the international Jazz Festival since I was 9 or 10 and had a chance to see amazing Jazz musicians like Herbie Hancock, Jimi Tenor, and George Benson, who totally inspired me to become a musician and an artist. At that age, DJing seemed to be a good place to start.

Where can we see you spin?

All over the world. I just graduated, so I had to keep on the low for a few months, but now I am booking full on shows and am really enjoying being on tour. It is truly my favourite thing to do, just travel from city to city, country to country, meeting new good people and spending a night with them at the cluuuuuuub.

What do you do when you’re not DJing?

I am currently scoring music for animation series for Adults, planning the art shows i’m curating next year , obsessing about food and wine & just kick about with my best friends.

Three emojis that describe you best?

If you were a song, which one would you be?

This is the hardest question in the world , but the track that comes straight to my mind is

“Lovely Day” by Bill Withers because I always try to keep it positive 100% and I always share everything I have with every habitant of this planet.

What song gets you dancing?

At the moment I am totally obsessed with

“No Type” by Rae Sremmurd. I just spent a month in U.S. and this has been on the loop soundtrack of this trip.

What song makes you cry?

“Walk on By” by Dionne Warwick. Gets me every time! It reminds me of the ended relationships with people who I really loved and who I’ve lost.

What song gets your adrenaline going?

THIS!!!!

What’s the best party you’ve ever been to?

This is maybe gonna sound super lame but I DJed at Porche private viewing party for a new car in Belgium and I absolutely killed it. They had lobster and champagne on tap and all the world’s alfa males wanted to know who I was because they loved my music. It was insane. I was 16 and they loaded my friend’s car with boxes of champagne after the show, which we drank for breakfast for about a month after that show. It was truly a James Bond kind of party.

Where are we most likely to find you at the party?

I don’t like spending time at the backstage or DJ booth, I like to party with everyone and experience the party with all my friends and my fans who came to see me play. I only spend time at the booth if its really too crowded and there is no place to step my foot out.

What is your go-to party cocktail?

I’m pretty basic when it comes to drinking. I don’t really drink cocktails cause I like to keep my drink clean: Good quality vodka with soda and lime is something I always go for and it never lets me down….although recently I’ve got really into sake.

Three words to describe you typical DJ set?

Four words! TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OFF.

If you could party with any three people, dead or alive, who would you party with?

Mr Oizo, Eric Wareheim, Danna Takako

Was there ever a time you partied too hard?

One time, I got booked back in my home country and my mum drove me to the gig and asked said, “Daughter, please don’t drink too much.” I was like, “Of course, mum.” By the time I got back home it was 8 a.m., I was so gone that I couldn’t get the key in the lock and ended up walking ’round the gate barking like a dog until my mum recognized my voice and let me in. I was in town for only 30 hours or so and the rest of the day I was throwing up in the toilet while my mum sat on the bathtub and gave me an update on our family and stuff.

At one point do you know the party is over?

When I’m rushing my Uber driver to the airport dreading that I’m about to miss my flight.
