Sunday Not-So Fun Day

I started this post out making a list of everything that went wrong this weekend and how our to-do lists keep mounting but it made me feel nuts. We had to rearrange our dining room again for some of the estate furniture we got and it was terrible. Let's just say our treadmill needs to be moved upstairs again and hubby is not happy. The icing on the cake was the karastan rug my parents gave me from my grandparents estate that we found covered in dog urine. We spent the morning attempting to clean it/making phone calls to have it professionally cleaned/ then finally had it picked up by a cleaning service. Geez! Can I catch a break?
Hadley got to attend a classmates birthday party at little gym last night which totally salvaged yesterday. But then Colin has disappeared for today to work on a school assignment and I'm stuck doing laundry, cleaning, making list after list of all the crap that needs to get done around here. It's going to be a busy week with Scarlett's 9 month appt, returning our beast of a rental car that Colin can't even park on the streets here in the city, planning for Hadley's little family gathering at my moms next weekend for her birthday, and my mother in law coming to stay midweek after surgery.
My head is spinning with plans to figure out putting parking spots in our back yard this spring and replace a front porch which is falling off and just the list of what has to be done to accomplish this is intimidating But we need off street parking for the $4500 damaged car that our insurance company did NOT total! I can't have it hit again after it's fixed!
And as of right now we're thinking Hadley won't attend preschool next year and we'll keep them both at home for another year or two before we start preschool. I mean how many years of preschool does a child need?! She's only 2. The one day a week this year was helpful to get us acclimated to having two children but two days next year seemed a bit more than what I wanted. I'd like to teach both girls for a couple years and put them in just before kindergarten to get adjusted. I figure they'll get the social aspect from little gym and Hadley will try soccer or dance this fall once I've researched it all. It's been a hard decision because I like her school but why spend the money and run around town twice a week next year like my kid needs a real school experience this young? I can teach her at home (I do have a masters in elementary teaching) and I am a SAHM for now. With all of that it's just become hard for us to justify the time, effort to get to and from school, and money for next year.
There is no end to the things going on in our lives right now and I'm not even naming half of it here because it's literally too much to explain and nothing is finalized to make it worth speaking of. Let's just say life better fall into place in the next few months or my husband may go mad since his sole preoccupation outside of work right now is school and a very difficult semester that we're competing with for his time. As it is I'm compiling a list that might make him faint and he hasn't even gotten the time to sit down and order a much needed plane ticket to Budapest for a mba school trip in June.
I think I'll get back to that list now...
