CITY LIFE

While there are many, many things that I love about living in San Diego by the beach, there is also a large part of me that desperately misses San Francisco and the Bay Area. I’m not sure if it’s just the winter hours and the fact that the sun sets before Mr. B arrives home from work which limits our ability to explore like we used to, but I miss the ability to be in the heart of one of the most glamorous cities in the country at one moment and in less than an hour be in the middle of beautiful green rolling hills and open fields. The Bay Area has so many unique places to discover that it makes it hard to compete. So after a month of only beach adventures, we went downtown San Diego to walk around the neighborhood that Mr. B and I lived in right after we graduated college and while it was a lot quieter (and a lot less windy) than the city we are used to, it was nice to be back in a city.

In other news, Holden has started dressing himself and being very particular about what he wears. When it’s not zip-up footie pajamas, it’s leggings (and sometimes a bow tie), and I kind of love watching people’s reactions to his outfit choices. While most days, I help pick out his clothes, I kind of love the days that he insists on wearing his shark one-piece pajamas and boots out of the house for our daily activities.
