happy friday

Feelings in a few words:

Excited (2 weeks until the wedding day), hot (a week of 32 degrees) but enjoying what feels like a ‘real summer’, loving having our first summer guest and eager to work out this morning as there is a breeze and it feels like I won’t die while jumping around.

And here is some weekend reading:

• Things I wish I’d known in high school – just a mini reality check.
• In a way it is sort of reassuring that there are only seven things that you can control in life.
• Love this post from Freya on bringing the holiday feeling home by incorporating some holiday thinking/activity into your every day.
• An interesting read on the top 10 productivity tips from a guy who spent a year experimenting with becoming more productive. There are also some interesting links from there like 100 productivity hacks, ways of relieving stress and the benefits of exercise to boosting productivity.
• Over the last few months I have started doing a few pilates routines and this article highlighted some extra benefits of the practise.
• This healthy eating plan from (of all places) buzzfeed has some good looking meals on it.
• Original content is the bomb.
• A new to me food blog which is all kinds of delicious.
• Loving these ideas for staying cool this summer. Although I am from Africa it seems I am just not used to the heat anymore and if it is this hot at the beginning of June what is August going to look like? I am off to go find some popsicle moulds!
• This idea for a disposable camera project looks fun. It doesn’t seem to have a deadline or anything, just some inspiration. (Found via Helen).
