where am i?

i haven’t had much to say this month so… i haven’t! its been a pretty dull month honestly. ben went to his eye specialist appointment and they were able to get him a prescription for glasses and hard, gas permeable, contact lenses, which will put his eyes at 20/40, the numbers he needs to pass the DOT physical. he’s not happy about the contacts, but got them anyway because the doctor said they would force his eyes into the round shape they should be. they will take some getting used to, and i hope he doesn’t lose any because the 2 lenses together were over 200$!!! his glasses were another 300$!!! it sucks having crappy vision in a country that doesn’t care if you go blind if you don’t have enough money to pay. the corneal specialist also told him that his eyes are so bad, that America doesn’t even have the implants he would need to have, if he were to go the surgery route, so he can pretty much never have surgery to correct his vision. at least we were able to get him glasses that will do what he needs to do. i really hope vincent dodges the bad eyes bullet. ben and i both have horrible vision. his naturally, mine due to the scar on my cornea (thanks bro!) that i got when i was 5. i am pretty much legally blind in my left eye and my right eye has to overwork to compensate.

saturday my best friend invited me and vincent (and ben but he didn’t wanna be with a bunch of girls) to a dinner party at a mutual friend’s house. we had chicken and dumplings and rainbow mac and cheese. vincent loved it. there were 4 kids there, all older than him but they played with him and helped him walk around while i relaxed and talked and enjoyed my time. he walked all over their house and barely crawled the whole night! i guess my baby is finally walking!

sunday we were bored and decided randomly to take vincent to the local park. well that didn’t work out because people reserve the park for stuff EVERY WEEKEND… so the playground was full of kids. there’s only 2 baby swings on the swing set and kids had shoved a ton of coats into them. i had almost decided to just toss them to the ground and put vincent in the swing but ben lead me away and we went to another park that has a great walking trail. we leasurely strolled about half a mile before ben’s feet started to hurt (we hadn’t planned on walking the trail so he was not wearing the right shoes) and we wandered back to the car. then we got some ice cream at aunt bea’s and vincent flirted with the cashier and they gave him his ice cream free! our total ended up being 6.66$ and the girl freaked and would not let us pay it lol she made it 6.65$ and that kinda bummed me out because i wanted another 666 receipt to add to my collection. we hit the supermarket, and i found pumpkin spice eggnog! and yes, it is as good as it sounds…

today i’m supposed to be doing house work, but the boys took a nap so i’m enjoying a little quiet time, with my eggnog, before i have to start washing dishes and sweeping floors.
