NOSTALGIC E EATS: VIKINGS, THE BLOCK

Welcome to my first ever entry in my new series of posts namely, Nostalgic E Eats! The hunt for the best foods and restaurants in Manila starts now. (But don't fret my awesome readers my blog will not be veering away from it's first love which is fashyown! Hahaha.) Reviews about my different dining experience will be posted here. The one to blame about this is my professor in Services (Hi Sir So!). He is requiring us to blog about services that we encounter as a requirement for completing the course. So expect a lot of this for now and less OOTDs. Hehe!
I celebrated my 19th birthday at Vikings, The Block last December 17, 2013. Vikings is popularly known for its eat-all-you-can buffet. They have a wide variety of food that will make you drool. So here's my experience in it. One of the main pain points I can share to you is the waiting time. If you wanna eat there without waiting I suggest you book your reservation two weeks prior to event or so. I asked for reservation one week before my birthday and they said it's already full and I have to go there as a walk-in client. I arrived at The Block around 2:30PM and they called us at 5:00PM. I, myself, didn't know how I manage to survive that kind of waiting as I am a very impatient person. The things that I hate about them is that they made me wait (although it's my fault for not reserving early hahaha) and as I have said I reserved for seats one week before my birthday and that's their policy about reserving seats to reserve one week before the day you eat. So how come I wasn't able to get a reservation. If it wasn't for their free eat-all-you-can buffet when it's your birthday I would have gotten angry with them. Haha! 888 is still 888. And on the bright side, they gave me a mini cake and the staff sang and danced for me.

So here's my final verdict:
  • Environment = 5. They have great interiors and the seats we got is so comfortable! The ambiance was pleasing to the eyes too.
  • Taste = 4.5. I don't like some of their dishes but nonetheless, the food is almost perfect.
  • Service = 5. Very attentive and accomodating staff they have.
  • Price = 3. Too pricey for me since we are not binge eaters.

xx, Edda
