Busy & fruitful weekend

We usually sleep in during the weekends and see what time we wake up, get something to eat, and relax until it’s time to get somewhere. Or at least that’s what it used to be before… hmmm…. this year?

Anyway last weekend was particularly busy. But I’m glad to say we got plenty of good things done. So it’s a fruitful weekend too.

The Saturday started with an early Japanese lunch. Oma tasted my sushi dinner previously and she liked it a lot, so we thought it’ll be nice to take her to a sushi place. The verdict: she loved jelly fish, baby octopus and especially the pickled ginger normally eaten with sushi – she ate loads of it! Hahaa..

Robby and I then left for choir practice with Vox Cordis Chorus for a Migrant Mass last Sunday at OLPS Church. After practice, we had a couple of hours to relax before I had to go for Ballet. Now while waiting for Ballet to start, Robby and I even had time to discuss something important in the car.

It was almost 10pm when I reached home after ballet. Had dinner. Tidied up this and that. And then we had a talk with my dad (related to our discussion earlier in the car) and got a nice resolution out of it. Robby and I talked some more… and by the time we went to bed it was 3 am!

Sunday morning we had to go to OLPS Church for another session of practice and then it’s the Migrant Mass at 12.15pm. After that we all went for a late lunch (dim sum!) near home, went back and almost right away had to get ready for another choir practice and mass, this time with our usual Sunday St. Mary’s Choir group.

The mass that evening was twice as long as usual because of the confirmation taking place (there were some 90 confirmants receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation!) and we sang many more songs than usual.

Once mass was over at 8pm, Robby rushed out to get chicken rice (the 5 star hainanese chicken rice stall now has some nice takeaway packaging! and taste yummy as always…) for our dinner while waiting for the cars to start moving so we can get out of the church carpark. Then we went home to pick up my parents and Oma, ate quickly in the car while waiting for them to come down, then went for a night drive and walk around Esplanade. Haha..

It was a really nice walk just from Esplanade to the Merlion Park and my Oma was even game to pose for funny pictures with the Merlion! She also experienced going down and up the stairs in her wheelchair using the handicapped moving platform thingy for the first time.

By the time we reached home it was 11pm. *phew*

But there are of course chores to be finished up… clothes to fold and put away, things to prepare for Monday, this and that… and before we know it it’s 1.30am. =.=

This morning I woke up feeling very very exhausted. (And almost refused to go to work. Almost.)

But I also felt a sense of achievement that we managed to get so many things done over the weekend. And I continue to discover more things being done over the weekend: I called the campus this morning for news about my study program and guess what – after months of waiting they finally heard from the Edinburgh campus over the weekend and will be letting me know the news soon!

Seems like a busy weekend everywhere…
