Pregnancy Notes – 34 weeks update

How far along? 34 weeks!

Total weight gain: 11kg. Yep it went back down, which means zero net gain over the past 6 weeks. This gives my hope that I can be within a normal weight gain range till the end of my pregnancy. Hahaha… Stretch marks: Still no. I’ve been feeling itchy more often these days though, mostly on the sides of my tummy. Sleep: Ok. Luckily I can still sleep on my side with just one pillow rather than having to prop myself up to a more seated position. I wish that day will never come cos I don’t think I can sleep like that. Hahaha… Best moment this week: A long lunch with a friend last Saturday. It was really nice to catch up with her and my most preferred kind of “socializing” is really just lunch/dinner/brunch/whatever with a long chat session with just 1-2 close friends. So that was just perfect! Also we tried Zaffron Kitchen across the street from i12 Katong – nice place, nice food. Definitely worth going back. Miss anything? Hmmm… I miss seeing her on the scans perhaps? This morning I looked like I have a basketball under my shirt. So I told Robby she’s my “ball friend” who goes everywhere with me. Hahaha… Movement: Regular squirms and wriggles. I can feel her head down there and sometimes she’ll push downwards. I can also feel her legs moving a lot, and arms once in a while down there near where her head is. The biggest movement is when she moves her body/bum. Haha. A few days ago I felt some aching on the right side of my abs near the rib cage. It was slightly sore to the touch. Robby recommended that I try to push down with my hand in case her foot or something was lodged in there, and it worked! hahaha… Nothing was really bulging out at the time but when I kept massaging downward gently I felt her foot move from around the area. And then the pain went away. Food cravings: None. I’ve been introducing a bit more variety to my diet and so far for snacks in the office I’ve had chwee kueh, chee cheong fun, bun, penne with cheese sauce and a kind of penne fritata today. Yes the office is having an influx of food leading up to our annual summer dinner, hence the availability of these things in the pantry. But don’t worry I’ve got my portion sizes under control! Like for the penne with cheese sauce I just had 12-16pcs for snack instead of wheat crackers & milk. Haha. It may feel crazy to some to be so stringent with portion sizes but it makes me comfortable to venture out of my meal plan that way. I know I know… control freak. =p

The milk bun turned out to be quite sweet but oh well, it’s just once.. hahaha..

Anything making you queasy or sick? No. Gender: Girl Labour signs: None. Well I have slight aching down there once in a while. It’s pretty much what I feel when I get my menses (I don’t get bad cramps at all). But since the feeling is irregular I don’t think it counts as labor sign.. hmm.. Symptoms: Just some fatigue in general. On a side note, this week has been pretty good physically I feel. And I could still participate in the monthly office exercise session last Friday which was to go up and down the 9 stories of stairs! Hehehe.. Now before anyone freaks out (especially those who think pregnant women shouldn’t take the stairs), never did I feel like I have to force myself to go up and down those stairs. I didn’t even get any more breathless than the non-pregnant people. My legs didn’t feel that tired either. I may no longer have the strength and stamina to dance like I used to, but if I physically can’t handle the stairs anymore right now I’ll be quite concerned because that’s a huge physical/stamina deterioration from before I got pregnant. Oh and there was another pregnant colleague (we’re both 34 weeks today) taking the stairs last Friday so you see it’s not that uncommon! Just chill and trust me everything is ok. Belly button in or out? On its way out it seems =p Wedding rings on or off? On but getting harder to put on or take off. Since I have no swelling and it gets stuck only on the bony part, I have a suspicion that all that milk/yogurt/cheese plus calcium supplement has made my bones grow bigger. Hahahaha. Happy or moody most of the time: Just okay~~~ though I get very irritable and impatient when I feel physically tired. And it’s difficult to talk myself out of it. Blah. Looking forward to: our 35th week scan!
