Introducing: Olios Spotlight Corner

Promoting local businesses that Olios works with is one key strategic business goal. Not only is it healthy for our business structure it is a way to say ‘thank you for partnering with Olios’ To provide the best customer service to you, Olios needs to work with the best of the best- its that simple.

Last month as I began planning for 2014, I asked the question ‘how can I share my network with my clients in an efficient, honorable, professional manner’? After much brainstorming I have developed a monthly Olios Spotlight Corner. At the end of very month I will highlight one specific local business owner here on my blog that I have developed a high-quality professional relationship with.

My goal for this Spotlight is to create a resource network for all of my clients and future clients- a place where you can reference and source my network.

As 2013 draws to a close, I am ready to dive right in with equipping you with my network. So, without further adew, check out January’s Spotlight!

JANUARY ’14 SPOTLIGHT CORNER: Residential Real Estate

Olios Design (OD): How long have you been in real estate?
Kendra (K): We’ve been a full time real estate team since March 2010.

(OD): What do you love most about your job?
(K): We love meeting new people and building solid relationships.

(OD): What do you dislike the most about your job?
(K): There are so many buyers and sellers who are unaware of the dangers of conducting a real estate transaction without the appropriate assistance. We are working to change this.

(OD): How does the DC real estate market differ from other markets in the US?
(K): The DC (DC, MD, and VA or DMV for short) area’s greatest asset is it’s access to stable jobs, which creates a feeling of security in the real estate market. Unlike most markets, DC experienced continued growth across the region in spite of the recession. Offering buyers versatility and flexibility, DC has a place to meet everyone’s needs, as individuals and families from all over the world converge to make the DMV home. With the right advice, homebuyers in the DC Metro Area make sound investments with great returns.

(OD): Are you seeing any home buying or selling trends we should be aware of? The market has been leaning in favor of the seller.
(K): Trends in the most high-demand neighborhoods certainly show homes priced right leave the market in less than a week! Buyers should understand that proper preparation prevents poor performance! Be sure to partner with a great lender and realtor to ensure that you are able to save as the cost of getting a mortgage increases.

(OD): What one piece of advice would you give to someone looking to purchase a home in 2014?
(K): Be aware of the new changes in lending, which will possibly increase interest rates and decrease buying power. We highly recommend attending a homebuyer seminar to make sure you’re able to get the best bang for buck and information about loans available to you. We host seminars quarterly, starting in January.
