Celeste + Gaius A Cosmic Love Styled Shoot

A vision of a modern groom and his dip-dyed purple haired bride at their out of this world cosmic wedding designed and styled by Santa Monica based Harmony Creative Studio. The stars aligned for Creative Director Margaux Frais who wanted to showcase where she thinks modern weddings are headed in the near future: tech-influenced, geometric, bold and sleek. Boldly going where no wedding…well, you know.

Enlisting some forward-thinking and creative wedding vendors for the shoot, like graphic designer Amanda Conrad who designed an invitation suite of overlapping triangles and hexagons in purples, teals, and blues. Included in the suite design was a ‘Tech’ Info Card with the couples’ social media info, along with an iPad version of the invite itself! “I loved the pattern she created so much I made a string art photo backdrop that mimicked it,” says Margaux.

“Of course, a modern wedding these days just isn’t complete without the work of Primary Petals! I came to Samantha with a crazy idea: What if the centerpieces were encased in geometric ‘cages’, with the flowers sticking out? Thankfully, she loved the idea and she was able to create an amazing floral design with geometric succulents, bold purples and sweet pink influences.”

In Downtown LA, Lot 613 provided a clean, modern and industrial venue with the entire property made available for the shoot. Hologram table runners, spray painted geometric toys, 3-D table numbers and hanging mobiles decorated the space creating some truly unique design elements. “I love taking objects you wouldn’t necessarily think of and incorporating them into the events I design,” says Margaux. “The centerpiece ‘cages’ are actually wooden dowels that were cut and glued together in abstract shapes and then spray painted.”

“One of the ideas that I think will be easy for brides to translate is our 3-D photo collage escort card display. The guests found their image, peeled off the top photo and found their table number listed on the one below. Interactive and a little different!”

Behind the lens the husband and wife team of Lukas & Suzy Van Dyke Photography captured every last detail right down to the bride’s semi-permanent dip-dyed hair and blue lip gloss which was done on site by Elegance By Alex and Lauren Prohaska of Salon Sessions. “For the styling,” says Margaux, “I wanted to ensure that ‘galactic’ and ‘futuristic’ were not translated as ‘crazy’ or ‘over-the-top’. Simple geometric jewelry and a form-fitting gown by TopShop made our bride’s look complete. Her bestie was looking spectacular in a Galaxy-Print dress from Rowme.com, and her groom evoked the rat-pack spirit with a twist with a slightly metallic mini-houndstooth jacket and cosmic kicks from Nike.”

Thanks to Margaux of Harmony Creative Studio for sharing this stellar shoot!
