Two-Tone Cupcakes

IT'S FINALLY OFFICIALLY SPRING the season of bunnies and chocolate and in the strawberry sister household: CUPCAKES ordinary people may be satisfied with the usual one tone sponge but we love to mix it up over here so prepare yourself for some two-tone cupcakey goodness

we bought a special kit to help assist with our crazy cake idea

but a cheeky diy works just as well!

to create the multi-coloured sponge food colouring will be a handy accessory

cupcake mix: because who has time to make cupcakes from scratch?

our recipe required two eggs. so here they are.

then mix them into the mixture

separate a small amount into another bowl

and mix in the food colouring (gosh there's a lot of mixing to do)

lay out some really pretty cupcake cases

and plop in your first colour

then add in the second

carefully remove the guide and the mixture will magically stay separate

follow the baking instructions and allow to chill

whip up some icing (preferably pink)

choose a lucky first cupcake

and dollop the icing all over the top

oooohhhhhhhhhhhhh what a beautiful cupcake you are

you won't be able to have just one we can testify to that.
