THE LIGHTEST OF LIGHTING…

Among the list of items I’d love to add to the loft is one big pendant… but with this new space, I’m trying to veer away from my usual chandelier tendencies towards something a bit lighter and more organic. Something like these airy pieces…

Am I crazy, or does that one above just look like a crab net hung around some simple wiring? I love the basket weave style, but I’m kind of over the whole ‘exposed bulb’ thing. It’s great in theory, but the light can be a little harsh – so I’m leaning more towards something like these pendants that offer a little more diffusion… and are totally calling out for a DIY.

I think I’ll be hunting for some ideas on how to whip something up like this! Stay tuned – we could get a little crafty around here!

If you’re hunting for something similar, check out the Ay Illuminate line – some of these pendants are their design, and some are very close. Not sure where to find these in the US… Same with the Cumulus Pendant from Enoki, which might be my fave.
