I must be getting a bit more traditional in my old age… or maybe just seeing the cozy comfort that comes with a bedroom that looks like this. Either way, I’m finding it amazing that I’m actually into this floor-to-ceiling wallpaper and printed carpet!? Since when?

But there’s something about it that seems like the perfect spot to make a weekend getaway. You know. To your house in the country…

I love how, despite the sense of classic design here, I’m far from bored with these spaces. They are calm without them being predicable, which I like. The blue palette lends itself well to a peaceable sensibility, which is something I’m craving at the moment. The patterns and details keep it interesting, livable, and cozy. Although in my everyday life, I’d probably take the oversized art and pattern in the rug over the wallpaper and carpet in the bedroom, I certainly wouldn’t mind if my weekend at a country B&B involved a space that looked like either. images :: oberto gili for vogue magazine
