Betty Lynn

This weeks salute to is...Betty Lynn.

Many may recognize her as Thelma Lou, sweetheart of Deputy Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show, but she has acted with legends such as Bette Davis, Maureen O'Hara, and .
  • Born Betty Ann Lynn in Kansas City, MS in 1926
  • Her movie debut was in 1948 in the comedy Sitting Pretty.
  • In 2007 Betty was inducted into the Missouri Walk of Fame. {Those of you native to MS should try and visit!}
  • Although she had been engaged once, never married.
  • Both Don Knotts and Betty Lynn dated for the entire time that Don was contracted to the show. When he left, so did she. {Now, why couldn't they have married. So cute, I tell you!}
  • Moved 2,000 miles from her Hollywood home to Mount Airy, Andy Griffith's hometown. She left because of crime, but was unfortunately robbed. Thankfully the criminals were caught.
  • Bette Davis nicknamed Betty "Boo" on the set because of the confusion.
