Cooking at Home with Blue Apron

Excited to start :) Wearing: Jessie Steel apron and oven mitt, Delia sweater, Topshop denim and Bear Claw boots!

Recently I've been trying to figure out how I can get back into cooking. Before I started a blog I actually cooked all the time! One of the hardest parts for me is picking something to make and getting myself to the grocery store. Blue Apron solves this problem for me! Plus they are so affordable at only $9.99 a person/meal!

Here are three recipes I received for the week. Each dish I create is likely to last at least two days because serving sizes are pretty big.
Basically Blue Apron allows you to create delicious, chef-designed recipes at home by delivering all the farm-fresh ingredients you need, right to your doorstep, in exactly the right proportions! So that means no waste! And all the packaging is recyclable which is just amazing.

I decided to make the Crispy Salmon & Barley-Fennel "Risotto" with Fresh Herb and Walnut Salad.

Cutting the fresh veggies.

You get three meals a week and can choose between two or four people's worth of servings. Shipping is free. I actually wasn't home for a few hours before I had a chance to take all of the food out of the boxes and they were packed so incredibly well - with refrigerated material and ice packs - that I had no qualms the steak, chicken and salmon had "been sitting out."

Prepping the "Fresh Herb and Walnut Salad" topping and getting started on the barley risotto.

When starting a subscription to Blue Apron, you get to input your dietary needs and preferences. And even though they have a huge selection of recipes, every week Blue Apron updates their menu anyways!

Used the lemon juice and the lemon rind for zest. Toasted the walnuts.

The only ingredients they expect everyone to have in their house: olive oil, salt and pepper.

Blue Apron is available in about 80% of the USA - your location is (probably) guaranteed if you live in a big city or even just close to one like I do. You can check if you are in one of their delivery zones here!

The dish turned out amazing! It was surprisingly rich and had great flavor. Blue Apron calls this "Fine Dining" :)

My favorite part about Blue Apron is all the new ingredients they introduced me to. I had never tried barley (crazy?!), fennel, tarragon nor sun chokes. I've never cooked with bamboo or Brussels sprouts either. Their recipes are also really healthy, which is always good of course! The main time sucker was from cutting all the veggies. But if you can get someone to help you, that's always great ;)
Now to those of you that read all that ^^ GREAT news! Blue Apron is offering my readers two free meals to the first 100 that sign up!
Thanks to Blue Apron for sponsoring this post! xoxo
