Hi friends! If you follow me on Instagram – you may know already that I have started on my journey to a healther me with the help of Nutrisystem! Every week I’m going to “weigh in” here on the blog to share my thoughts about the journey – my thoughts on the program, how I’m handling it all and my progress! I hope that through these shares I might just give you MORE insight into the Nutrisystem program so that you are better informed in your decisions to begin a similar journey! And I hope you find the information useful!
It’s been a loooong couple of years. You know, those years that fly by, are full of stress and life circumstances and you look back and you barely know what happened. I had a realization this summer that these years had passed and I had barely paid any attention to my health. I’m surrounded by boys. I have a healthy husband and two growing boys and certainly what keeps them fed and going is certainly not the same food that I run on. But in all of the busyness I neglected what I was eating, was too busy for activity and in just a couple of years I’ve found myself not only overweight but feeling its effects.
While the stress levels were high, energy levels were waning and I noted aches and pains that I just didn’t feel I could solely contribute to weight. I knew that I needed a BIG change. A life change. So this summer I did that. I changed my career, put an emphasis on family and home – and now am putting a greater emphasis on ME. On my health, my wellness and I’m thankful to Nutrisystem for being a part of that!

Now with all that as background, I’m a couple of weeks in and I’m SURE you want to know how things are going, right?! I’m down 5 POUNDS! Now don’t get me wrong, I have a LONG way to go on my journey, but once I hit the 5 pound mark, I rushed down the stairs to tell my husband. He could tell I was excited. And I am! So let’s talk about the Nutrisystem steps I took to get there. Each week I’m going to break down my successes and struggles. Here we go for the first two weeks…
SUCCESSES
The food! Guys I have to be honest I was worried about eating what I thought would be freezer meals 24-7 for an extended period of time. The convenience factor would of course be off the charts, but the taste?! Well I have to tell you that I have been impressed! The food is tasty, I’ve even had my husband try things and said “see, it’s good!” He agrees. I also love the variety of food choices! I really feel like I get to “shop my supply” every day to really match what I feel like eating. I can choose from bars, shakes, meals and more. I especially love the meal bars when I am on the go. I keep lunch bars with me at all times just in case I’m stuck out and about and get hungry.
STRUGGLES
The first week I was GREAT at getting my water in. This week has not been as great. I found that using the paper trackers that I used in Fast 5 (the first week’s protocol) worked really well for me, so I think I will go back to a visual indicator I can keep in my kitchen to keep track during the day. Also this week is “that week.” While I haven’t noticed an increase in hunger or cravings, I have felt bloated, which isn’t exciting when you’re trying to lose weight. I really just need to keep my water intake high and keep chugging along.
So that’s it for this week! Again, down 5 pounds and excited to see where this Nutrisystem journey will take me. I hope you’ll come along for the ride! Let me know if you have any specific questions along the way too – I want to be sure I’m sharing as much good information as possible!
Disclosure: I am receiving Nutrisystem in exchange for blogging about my weight loss journey; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
