See You Soon, Seattle!

Heyo! Some of you who are following me on Twitter or Facebook may already know this, but I’M MOVING BACK TO SEATTLE.

Yup. I’ve been in Oklahoma City for a year now (check out my original post about moving here) and I feel like it’s time to go home. I have learned a lot during my time here, made a lot of amazing friends (whom I hope will come visit me!), had some really great experiences, started a new career, and felt incredibly welcomed by all of the awesome people in this tight-knit community. I feel like I accomplished a lot while I was adventuring here and I’m going to go back to Seattle feeling refreshed, more confident, and less tied-down.

I put in my notice at work, and at the beginning of September I plan to drive my (hopefully) trusty car back across the country to Seattle by myself. It’s a pretty scary prospect, especially since I am extremely and perpetually broke, but I’ve learned that doing things that scare me is good. I’d rather be doing something that scares me than sitting around being bored.

I had a few people ask how they could help me out, so I started a fundraiser page to help me get back. I’m estimating that it will cost around $1000 to drive back (car tune up, gas, food, lodging) not including the cost of shipping some boxes that won’t fit in my car. If you’d like to donate to the Get Kelsi Home fund, please feel free. I feel like maybe I should have made a lot of enemies in Oklahoma so they would pay me to leave…

Other things that would help: If you live near Seattle, let me know! I’d like to start following more PNW people and businesses and network the shit out of the city! I’m also going to be doing hair part time, but I’ll be looking for marketing job as well. If you hear of any opportunities with fun companies doing Social Media Community Management or other marketing stuff, especially involving events, music, arts, kids… you know, fun stuff… keep me in mind! Also, all money ad sales on my blog will toward moving!

So there you have it! See you soon, Seattle!
