Pre-Christmas Festivities

Something About December by Christina Perri on Grooveshark
Monday we drove over to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to spend Christmas with my parents. We rented a place to stay from Monday to Thursday. The stinky part about traveling away for Christmas is that you have to pack up all of the gifts, luggage, food, meal plan, and expectedly leave behind all of your Christmas decorations. Even though it seems like a lot of work it was definitely worth driving a couple hours and spending Christmas in a little ski town, it made for the perfect winter wonderland and gave us a change of scenery!

The first day we were there, we had planned an Elk Sleigh Ride for that afternoon and snuck in a little shopping downtown before we headed over. The snow was coming down pretty good our entire sleigh ride. Lex was slightly tortured by it and buried herself under the blankets and ended up falling asleep for a nice little nap. By the time we finished the sleigh ride it was time to check in to our new home for the next four days. Once we were all unpacked we headed back to town to find a Christmas Tree and grab dinner! We have a fake one back at home (that we love a lot) but it was kinda nice doing the real deal! Being the night before Christmas Eve, our selection was quite bare but luckily we found a charming little tree at a local nursery called Twigs. After we packed in our new Christmas Tree we headed off to dinner at an Italian place in town called Nani's then we headed back to setup our new Christmas Tree while White Christmas played. We strung popcorn and hung lights. There is something magical about putting up a Christmas Tree so doing it twice puts you right into the Christmas spirit!
