SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

Hello, Lovelies!

This product has always fascinated me, not sure why. Every time I leaf through a fashion magazine, there it is, just daring me to buy it – the nerve! Although, once you glance at the hefty price-tag you will think twice before purchasing – eeek! In fact, I did some serious research before I decided to splurge on this bad boy. Still, I wasn’t 100% sure. Then I remembered that Sephora’s return policy would allow me to return it if not satisfied, so I went for it. The first thing I should mention is that this product lasts for quite some time, you don’t need much of it. In fact, I purchased the 2.5 fl. oz. size for $100.00 – and after three months of regular use – there is still plenty of product left in the bottle. I can definitely say that after three months of using SK-II, morning and night, my complexion looks so much healthier, brighter and balanced. It’s as if it jump-started my complexion… revived it and gave it a second life – that’s one heck-of-a-perk However, I can’t comment on its effect on wrinkles since I don’t have any, minus some fine lines. But, I can say that it’s definitely worth the hideous price-tag. I would particularly recommend this product to anyone with a dull and lackluster complexion, whether dry or oily – it doesn’t matter. In fact, my complexion is oily, acne-prone and sensitive, and after three months of daily use I have no complaints.

One important tid-bit, do not use a cotton ball to apply, simply pour a teaspoon-size amount in palm and apply to face; it absorbs into the skin fairly quickly. Also, do not expect immediate results, but eventually you will see a lovely difference in your complexion

(SK-II contains over 90% of the active ingredient Pitera.)

“‘During a chance observation of workers at a sake brewery in Japan, scientists noticed the elderly workers had wrinkled faces, but something was causing their hands to stay smooth, clear and younger looking,” said Dr. Colin D’Silva, Associate Director of External Relations for SK-II. “Their hands were in constant contact with the yeast fermentation process.”

Researchers discovered that the sake fermentation process created a natural by-product: a clear, nutrient-rich liquid that could nourish and care for skin. Research into the yeast fermentation process began, and after years of study involving more than 350 different strains of yeast, scientists were able to isolate a naturally-occurring yeast that could produce a nutrient-rich ferment filtrate. They called it Pitera™.”
