The Belated Birthday Post for Micah

Micah has been 5 for nearly a full month now. It is really crazy to think that my baby is no longer a baby or toddler (though he does still suck his thumb)! He and his brother have been asking me a lot lately to tell them stories about themselves from when they were babies. I’ve told them many, and they laugh as I tell them their stories. I told them I would certainly be one of those moms who will tell their stories to their future wives and embarrass them. I feel badly that I don’t have enough stories about Micah. The truth is he was a really great baby and I knew what I was doing, while with Leto everything was so new and confusing. Now that Micah is entering new stages and has been learning more, I have a new set of stories I’ll be compiling for him.

We really don’t do much for our sons’ birthdays yet, but hope that one day we can afford parties for them, so we really only have family with us at this point to celebrate their day. We feel so badly for Micah, who was born on the 22nd of December. No one really has time for birthday celebrations around the holidays. There is this great song that Rob found around the time Micah was born that has lyrics, “All the parents of the children of December have a clutch ’cause their birthdays are the hardest to remember.
