Review: Graftobian HD Cream Foundations
Also unlike a lot of brands they cover a huge range of skin tones
I get a lot of people asking me where to look for brands that cater to very pale and very dark skin tones, and theatrical brands like Graftobian and Ben Nye are always the first brands I mention. True, they tend to cost slightly more, but believe me in the long run they are much cheaper simply because they are better quality.
Don’t worry, this is not going to me a “OMG it’s fantastic! go buy it!” review. Like all products there are pro’s and cons, and also items which are simply just not what you’re looking for. Let’s start with the pros. It might look like a small pot that would get used up in no time, but it’s increadibly pigmented, a little goes a long way. At first the texture feels quite thick, but it gets very creamy the minute it get’s exposed to warmth, it’s mainly for that reason I prefer using my fingers to apply this product.

Now for the cons: While the texture is creamy and it’s not a drying foundation, it does not like dry skin at all. Any flakes on the skin or a remotely dry surface will be highlighted with this product. One strange thing I’ve noticed is it does not like the skin around my eyes. Even though the skin around there is normal/slightly oily, this particular foundation/concealer makes the skin around (especially under) my eyes look dry, but that does seem to be something only I have experienced.
Saying that, once it’s all blended out it’s the kind of thing you would notice only if you’re using an HD camera (that thing sees things your own eyes can’t) or if you’re about an inch away from the mirror. Overall I’d rate this foundation a 4 out of 5. It’s a great concealer/foundation despite the dry skin problem, and to be fair that problem can be solved with a heavier moiturizer.
