Review: Napiers Starflower Sensitive Skin Cream

Disclaimer: Item provided for review

This one I’ve had for months and really I should have done a review for it a while ago but kept using it and so it was never in my review pile which I was taking photographs. Not only have I used it for myself but I’ve also used it quite a few times for other people when I was doing their makeup and it’s fantastic!

Basics: Cruelty-free, UK brand

Gentle, moisturizing (obviously) and it sinks in quite quickly which is perfect if you’re doing someone elses makeup, though I’ve found it’s more effective if it’s massaged into the skin rather than just lightly slapped on, though to be fair you could say that about most creams.

Contains Starflower, Chamomile, Chickweed and Sweet Almond oil

Its got what I would describe as a slightly silicone-y feeling (but it doesn’t actually have any in it’s ingredients) and it feels quite thick when you first apply it. Napiers describe it as “soothing, cooling moisturiser for dry, itchy, sensitive skin” and it’s good for all of those. Not as fast-acting for me as Aloe Vera gel when my skin is irritated, or Embryolisse but effective non the less.

Apart from it’s moisturising and calming properties I’ve found it’s really quite amazing as a face primer! Especially on younger skins. One thing I think might put people off this though is the smell, I personally like herbal smells, but I know some people can’t stand it, so if you’re one of those people this cream might not be for you, or at least not to be used for your face.
