This weekend was the first in a long time where I really, truly relaxed. I wasn't rushing to get errands run or trying to wrap up work projects or racing the kids out the door to birthday parties. It was just 4 solid days of nothing but quality family time - we had a picnic in the park, went fishing, ate dinner outside and played board games. We didn't think about the week ahead that is full of swimming lessons, meetings & dentist appointments...we just spent time together and lived in the moment. In a world where "being busy" is the new normal, I am realizing that we don't take time away from it all often enough...and it's something I am going to make more of a priority because I think it's so important to strengthen our bond & make new memories.
