JORD Wooden Watches (WIN)
I love a good watch. From my very first one (a black strap and a Mickey Mouse face) to my latest selection I can’t really remember a time I’ve been without a watch in my life. It was what I chose as my ‘specia” 21st birthday present and my love affair with Michael Kors watches has and is still going strong a few years down the line. But what I have never had or even knew was a thing – was a watch made out of wood. Yes, really- a wooden watch. I didn’t even know wooden watches was a thing. Strap and all. So when I was approached by the lovely folks at Jord if I wanted one of their watches – plus the chance to give one away. The watch-lover in me just couldn’t say no.
This little beauty is the Ely – Cherry model of Jord Watch. A similar size to THIS (the MK5400) watch to give a bit of context. The face of the watch is perhaps around the size of pound coin. The best thing about the watches though it how light-weight they feel. I do love a chunky watch, but there are times in Summer when I just wish for something lighter than the heavy chunks of metal I usually opt for. I alos love the warm wooden colour and think it’s very flattering on skintone – and looks quite subtle at the same time.
The watch designs available from JORD aren’t limited by the fact they’re wooden either – they’re extensive and have everything from square/angular faces and chunky strapped versions, to mixed shades of wood to these more delicate Ely versions (available in a range of wood options). Essentially, it’s just like any other watch except it’s really light and has the novelty factor of being made out of wood. If you like watches, you definitely need to check these out.
